Life doesn’t come with a manual. It comes with a mother.

First, she becomes a Mama, then a Mommy and finally a Mom and then the journey takes a hiatus at Ma but never stops. We all have written various essays on mothers in school be it ‘If my mother had a superpower it would be…’ or ‘My first memory with my mother’.
However, we forget that for us they have superpowers but in reality, they are ordinary humans with an extraordinary amount of daily chores and tasks trying to make ends meet every day or that for us our first memory with her might be playing in the park or the first day to school but for her the first memory is when she knew of our existence followed by her first time seeing us on a sonogram or the first time her baby kicks to getting wrapped around her baby’s pinky finger the moment he let out his first cry.
Motherhood might be blissful but it comes at a cost of wakeful nights, unexpected tantrums and sudden bouts of sickness. She makes us her priority all of 365 days, 24 x 7, even on her birthdays wanting to celebrate it with us, her family, so let’s make her our priority this one day. And not just her but all the mothers in our family as well. A very Happy Mother’s Day to all these amazing Mammas, Mommys, Moms and Mas out there as well as those who nurture a mother and her motherhood in themselves.
