Sangamner : The Sangamner Rotary Club’s Vanchitanchi Diwali project, which has been running every Diwali festival for the last five years, was implemented in Pimparne this year as well.
As part of the “Vanchitanchi Diwali” Project, the wives of sugarcane cutting workers were given groceries and sarees as gifts by Rotary.
The villagers have appreciated this initiative of the Rotary Club of Sangamner, which has always been at the forefront of social work, helping the underprivileged families as well as the grassroots community.
At present, The season of sugar millers has started. Rotary President Hrishikesh Mondhe and Secretary Anand Haase said that the main purpose behind this project is that the sugarcane cutting workers who left their village for sugarcane cutting work in another district should have a happy diwali.
This year around 120 families have set up their temporary settlement from Malegaon at Pimparne in Sangamner taluka. On this occasion, 110 women workers from these settlements were gifted groceries, materials and sarees for Diwali.
The program was started by felicitating the office bearers. Sunil Ghule explained the concept of the project to the families who came here, was done for this project. Ramesh Divte, Sonu Rajpal, Omkar Somani, Amol Mule worked as project heads. All the Rotary Club members worked hard for the success of the initiative. Members and villagers were present on this occasion.
