International Fashion Week recently concluded in Goa. Nashik’s name has reached the international stage as Sandeep University’s School of Design won the Best Showcase Performance award at the international level. Hon’ble Chairman Dr.Sandip Jha, congratulated the team. It has become the talk of the town and the winning team is getting best wishes from everywhere.
This event is organized every year on behalf of International Fashion Week, Goa. The fashion week could not be held for the last two years due to Covid 19 pandemic. So this year only the presentation was held without competing in the fashion show. The fashion week was held at Panjim on 7th, 8th and 9th October. National and international professional fashion designers, national and international models and various fashion colleges from all over India participated in this fashion week.
The Sandip University School of Design participated in this Fashion Week. University’s OSD Mr. Vivek Nikam and Dean Dr. Vibha Kapoor provided their valuable guidance to the team. School of Design’s third year students Komal Dargude, Komleshwari Desale, Kalyani Desale, Gauri Sonar, Sakshi Patil, Sejal Choudhary, Vaishnavi Wagh, Apsara Paniker worked hard day and night and gave an excellent performance in all aspects for the success of this show and a fantastic presentation on the runway. Assistant Professor Rupali Pagare led the design team to design and produce the dresses. Assistant Professor Engg. Siddhartha Dharane created experience design through graphics, sound and visual arts. Ms Priti Ahirrao and Ms Sonali Vispute provided special support.
The team came up with an innovative concept of Save Girl Child for this show and the presentation was very much appreciated by the audience. From the Mohanjodado era to Modern Woman,, the achievements of women were highlighted. Models were dressed according to the respective eras. This performance won the best showcase performance award at the international level. The team was felicitated with a memento and certificate by Mr Michael, Director of International Fashion Week.
